The Katrina Memorial to hurricane victims was unveiled at a candle light vigil at Biloxi's Town Green on Highway 90.

 BILOXI, Miss., May 16 -- Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. along with world-renowned singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffett, today unveiled plans for a new Gulf Coast destination; Margaritaville Casino & Resort on the shores of Biloxi. The Margaritaville project is expected to cost more than $700 million, representing the single largest investment in Mississippi since Hurricane Katrina. The company expects this to be the first phase of a development that may cost more than $1 billion.

 Dayton Scoggins a well known artist has visited the Mississippi Gulf Coast area several times recently. Here he is shown working on his latest project. The City of Biloxi is having him carve some beautiful works from trees that were damaged by hurricane Katrina on Highway 90.
Shown here on Day 1 of the project, Scoggins, chainsaw in hand demonstrates his technique.
Here during day 2, the Dolphins continue to take shape.

The mostly finished product now a highly visible attraction along Hwy 90. Surely will become a landmark.
