Dedicated to the Victims of Hurricane Katrina

The Katrina Memorial in Biloxi Mississippi is located near Highway 90 in Biloxis Town Green. Dedicated to the gulf coast victims who perished in Hurricane Katrina. Opened Feb 15, 2006 in a ceremony with ABC’s “Extreme Makeover” crew. see Opening Ceremony below.
The Memorial stands 12 feet tall, about the height of the water during Hurricane Katrinas storm surge at the Town Green.
The Memorial contains a tile inlay of a wave (see photos). And a glass case containing various items from destroyed buildings.
The Katrina Memorial to hurricane victims was unveiled at a candle light vigil at Biloxi’s Town Green on Highway 90.

Crowd at opening ceremony
