 Biloxi welcomes back the finest in Offfshore races. Smokin the Sound returns the first week in April.
Biloxi and the Gulf Coast has hosted the Smokin the Sound races since 2004 missing only the 2006 races while repairing and rebuilding from Katrina.  Several Gulf Coast Casinos are now open in Biloxi, MS.
After hurricane Katrina destroyed all the Gulf Coast Casinos, The I.P (Imperial Palace), The Palace Casino and the Isle of Capri. They have relocated onland generally in the Hotel complex located next to the original casino.
Boomtown Casino is now open.
Beau Rivage - opens August 29
Hollywood Casino - opens August 31
Grand Casino Biloxi open
Treasure Bay - open - in hotel

.JPG) Over the past few weeks the media attention on the tragedy of the Gulf Coast, particularly the Mississippi gulf coast has waned.
We aren't the only ones to notice. An editorial in the Sun Herald (see article) titled "Mississippi's Invisible Coast" appeared recently.

 Waveland, MS. - Just one of our coastal cities that suffered such horrible devestation from the infamous Hurricane Katrina, was home to the Den for The Krewe of Nereids who hosted their annual Mardi Gras Parade.
All that was salvaged of the Den structure was the concrete slab and one wall.

 Hollywood Casino Bay St. Louis, formerly Casino Magic, will open Thursday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. much sooner than expected. The Katrina Memorial to hurricane victims was unveiled at a candle light vigil at Biloxi's Town Green on Highway 90.
